Piazza Bra is the
largest square in Verona, in fact one of the most
spacious and impressive in the whole of Italy. One enters the
square through the archway known as the Portoni della Bra, consisting
of two huge arches surmounted by battlements which formed part
of the walls built by Gian Galeazzo Visconti at the end of the 14th
century.
